Tell us about your current line of work.

Okada

I am in the technical division and produce (cutting and sewing materials) prototype samples of gloves.
I also go on trips a few times a year to our overseas plants and give technical guidance.

Omori

I am also in the technical division and produce glove samples.
I just joined the company this year, so I’m getting a lot of support and guidance from Okada and my other colleagues.

Tell us about what led you to join Naigai.

Okada

I was interested in work involving craftsmanship. Naigai is located in Higashikagawa in Kagawa Prefecture, where I was born and raised. I was intrigued to hear that there was a company producing gloves for globally renowned companies right in my hometown.
I visited the company and found the work they did so interesting, that I resolved to apply.

Omori

I was in the baseball club in junior and high school, and I wanted to to do work that would be connected to baseball.
During my interview, I learned that Naigai produces gloves worn by noted professional baseball players. I felt this was the perfect opportunity for me to help the baseball industry.

What are some attractive aspects of working at Naigai?

Okada

Naigai has a diverse team of people of different nationalities and ethnicities. We have people from Myanmar, Indonesia, South Korea, and more.
Since we come from different places, we have different values and ideas, but there is a sense of solidarity, and we work together to solve common problems. There’s a culture here where you can really work with people of all types towards a common goal.I find that very attractive.

Omori

I like that we are heavily involved in producing gloves for famous professional athletes.
After playing baseball in junior and high school, and watching a lot of professional baseball and major league games, it’s been a source of pride to see the gloves we make being worn by players in the field.

What are your future career goals?

Okada

I want to improve my knowledge and skills in glove production and become a trusted member of the technical team at the head office, as well as a source of knowledge for the overseas plants.

Omori

In the future, I’d like to be able to give technical guidance in the field to our plants overseas, like Okada does.To that end, I intend to continue improving my technical knowledge, and my English.
